Home Screen and Lock Screen
The
Apple’s original screen is now gone and the screen is kept simple with nothing
but just text and if you want to unlock the phone, you are given direction to
slide and unlock. The color pallet of this system looks like that of Google
Play.
Interface
Android
Jelly Bean top bar is black in color while that in iOS7 is transparent. Apple
had revamped folders in iOS7 which can have shortcuts just like apps. In iOS7,
on tapping the folder, it zooms you in it and takes you to completely new
screen. But there are bright colors in Jelly Bean than in iOS7. Users are
complaining about the childish icons and fonts of the iOS 7 too.
Multitasking
The
multitasking had completely overhauled on iOS7. It scrolls side by side in
portrait orientation and swipe to close is upwards, as opposed to Android’s up
and down carousel and swipe to slide as close. But it has transparent skin.
Jelly
Bean multitasking has got great or I can say the best interaction style.
Notifications
Both
iOS7 and Android Jelly Bean has notifications centers dropping down from top
bar with a swipe gesture. The background for jelly bean is black while that for
iOS7 is translucent.
Quick
Settings
The
quick settings on Android can be opened by just swiping down from notifications
bar with two fingered gesture and presents you with grid of square button
toggles for things like increasing- decreasing brightness, enabling Wi-Fi and
Bluetooth. There is also shortcut for the Settings Menu too. Apple calls it the
Control Center. You have got a standard set of toggle shortcuts for Bluetooth,
Wi-Fi but more importantly an brightness slider on right of the panel, which is
hidden in the Android Jelly Bean setup.
Navigation
Apple is
one of the best known single button phones to approach to things. It is a
design that has confused Windows fans when they use an Apple mouse with only
one button on it. The iPhone and iPad only have one single button for
navigation and the rest is done on screen. Apple now features slide-out
“drawers” to enhance in-app navigation.
Updating
Like the
Android updates which are done automatically, the iOS7 had come with this
feature to update the versions of apps automatically. Apple has removed the
inconvenience which people had to suffer earlier before such auto update
option.
